New to Archery and Hunting, but not the Great Outdoors
Okay y’all so I am definitely not a bow expert, but I do know what looks good and I am here to tell you that the Hoyt Klash is a good lookin bow. When I first started looking into bows I knew I wanted something that would adjust not only easily, but also would be able to adjust to fit quite a variety of draw lengths and weights. Since I am brand new to hunting I am not super strong yet
I was gifted the Hoyt Klash for Christmas as an incentive to go bow hunting with my boyfriend. In all honesty I was pretty excited about it because this was going to be my new “hobby” and something to focus on outside of school and work. Initially I thought I would shoot maybe once a week or so and it would just be something to do for fun, but it has turned into something so much more. I have found myself thinking about shooting more and more and wanting to practice almost every night (depending on weather since I don’t have an indoor range in my house… not yet at least 😉 and it’s the middle of winter in Ohio).
When I first started looking at bows I knew I would need something that has a wide range of adjustments because I do have a shorter draw length of 25” and knew I would need to begin at a low draw weight. Right now I currently have my bow set at 30 pounds just because I am getting the feel for the shot and the process itself. I plan to move my poundage up within the next month or so since the minimum draw weight here in Ohio is 40 lbs.
Anyways, I was interested in the Hoyt Klash because it can accommodate such a wide range of draw lengths and weights. It can be adjusted from 15 to 50 pounds (in some bows 15-70 lbs) and can accommodate a draw length from 18” to 29”. It is on the smaller side being that it is only 28” axle to axle (aka top to bottom), and only weighs 3.5 lbs. I have the ‘Black Out’ color, but it also comes in a range of colors; from camo to pink or green accents.
**sidenote: the bow only weighs just under 4 punds by itself. That is before you add a stabilizer, sight, rest, quiver, etc. **
So far I am extremely happy with this choice and would recommend this bow for anyone that is interested in starting archery or bow hunting.
